Tom, If you & This site are still active. I have come across a K&D Staking set with fairly unique stake numbers. About 70 in total. I believe this is a more early set, many of the prefixes are letters such as "A" , "B" , "C" , "D" , "E" & "O".

... I think I havn't answered your question precisely enough. My lever attachment differs from all the ones that are shown on your site. In fact, it mixes elements of the first and the second generation of the 540 as it is fixed with three screws but already uses the modern lever design.

I recently acuired a K & D staking set at an estate sale and neither I nor the owner knew what it was. I believe it came to her when she purchased her property. I would love to use it to make jewelry but have no idea how to use this very intriquing set of tools. Thank you for this website!

Hi, great site! I have been researching trying to figure out what model of staking set I have acquired and how to determine its resale value. It's peculiar in that it does not have a box with a lid like most of the ones I have seen, but the tools and attachments sit in a hardwood stand. At first I thought that the lid had been removed, but I don't see any indications that there was ever a lid on it (i.e. no hinge marks). The tool says Kendrick & Davis Inverto, Lebanon, NH and on the bottom it says K&D Pat. April 7.25, 9321. There are about 190 punches and other tools included in the set. Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Tom! First, thank you so much for this detailed site. I bought a really nice 18R set and was able to track down its history and complete its original setup thanks to you. Second - on the page https://kanddinverto.weebly.com/k-and-d-tools-catalog-1949.html, the full size images for page 1, page 2, and page 6 link to the incorrect images. I'd really like to have the larger full-res scans, can you fix the links? Thank you again my friend! - Josh
